This paper
is for everyone who always wondered: "What is Chlamydomonas made of?” We grew
Chlamydomonas in chemostats under different resource limitations and growth rates and
investigated its elemental and macromolecular plasticity. Especially under low light conditions,
Chlamydomonas alters its macromolecular composition. Also, differences are most
pronounced at slow growth and partially disappears at fast growth. It appears that there are
many ways to grow slow which eventually converge to only one way of growing fast. Especially the
trade-off between storing C in lipids or carbohydrates is interesting.
Give it a read!

New Position
1st August 2023
I am thrilled to announce that I will start as a tenure-track Assistant Professor for Freshwater
Ecology at the University of Copenhagen in October.
I look forward to joining a great team of faculty at the
Freshwater Section and to
establish my own research group in such a renown place. My group will work on evolutionary
ecology of planktonic
organisms in lake ecosystems. I hope that together, we can work towards understanding emerging
anthropogenic threats to
freshwater organisms, explore their adaptive potential and identify the consequences for their
ecology.
Stay tuned for some exciting job posting here soon!
